    Investing.com– Alibaba Group ()-backed Ant International said on Monday it had raised about $1.2 billion in an equity financing round, with proceeds earmarked to expand its cross-border payments business and AI-powered commerce solutions globally.

    The Singapore- and Shanghai-based financial technology company said existing shareholders, including Ant Group () and Alibaba Group, participated in the fundraising alongside international investment institutions.

    Ant International said the fresh capital will support global expansion and accelerate innovation in merchant payments, account management and financial services for small and medium-sized businesses and enterprises.

    The company began operating independently in 2024 and has since expanded across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

    Ant International operates four core businesses — Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr — offering cross-border payment, treasury and financial technology services, with an increasing focus on AI-driven solutions for global commerce.
